Pictures from Christmas 2013

We had a great Christmas week in New Orleans.  Here are a sampling of iPhone photos from our week... (the first two were taken before we left for New Orleans, but too cute to go undocumented).

The gingerbread house bites the dust.

Aw.  I just love bath tub pictures :)

Dressed up for Christmas Eve mass.

Santa did come.  The biggest hit from Santa was definitely the nerf-like bow and arrows.

Finnan, in the pirogue, in the pool, in a swim suit, in 40 something degrees.

Paw Paw had this singing and dancing hat that Jude loved.  (We all got to know the words to the Candy Cane Twist!)

Aunt Cae Cae and Uncle Frank came in at the end of the week and brought a gift they had received- the game Mind Flex.  Somehow you use your brain power to get the ball to float...Rory was pretty good.

A better picture of the game.

We ended up staying an extra day because we didn't want to drive home in a downpour.  Instead we set up the Wii.  Here the boys are battling it out in Just Dance.

Feeding the ducks in City Park.

The cousins in City Park.

The boys at the Mississippi River.

We had fun in a mask store in the French Quarter.

Sword fighting in the French Quarter.

Sword fighting with cousins on Captain Hook's boat in Story Land in City Park.

In the mouth of the whale in Story Land.

Astronaut Jude.

Rory is 2!

Earlier this month, Rory turned 2.  We had a small celebration with our family and Weggi.  We sang his favorite song (Happy Birthday, or as Rory says, Happy Happy) and ate cupcakes modeled after his favorite animal (turtle).  It was the perfect little celebration for our little guy.

Rory's second year was a tough one. He screamed a lot, fussed a lot and just generally demanded a lot.  Luckily, we seemed to have turned a corner around Thanksgiving and we are having a lot more fun with Rory.  He is communicating much better, which is probably the reason for the shift.  He loves going to Gabriela's.  At Gabriela's, they describe him as content and sweet. He plays well with all of the other kids, never lets anyone help him on walking day, and may eat more beets than any one else on beet day.  At home, he likes to play with cars, build with blocks, create boats or waffles out of play doh,  run races with his brothers and jump off of things.  He enjoys the swings and is constantly requesting underdogs.  He really, really likes playing the cat game on Atticus' iPhone.  Despite still having a fairly limited vocabulary, he really seems to catch on to music and tunes, singing the last words of song verses he hears often.  Besides beets, I think his favorite food is frozen blueberries.  He is both a mama's and daddy's boy and other than his immediate family his most requested person is Uncle Lyle, who unfortunately for Rory, is in China for the year.

He weighed in at 24.9 lbs (10th percentile) and was in the 60th percentile for height (I can't remember the exact measurement!).  His head circumference remained in the 90th percentile.  Greyish and greenish tints seem to be creeping into his blue eyes and he has the most adorable dimples.  Here is to a year full of smiles and dimples!  Happy Birthday, Rory!

Finnan's Panda Documentary

This video is for Finnan's second exhibit night.  They were given a list of questions to address in the project. He chose the answers to the questions and his outfit and directed Jude.  Admittedly, I was kind of dreading putting this project together, but I love it!
